Gawain with Níassa

A5-sized drawing in a Moleskine sketchbook, using colour pencils from a variety of brands (and some of which I have owned for most of my life).

Every time I work with colour pencils, I find I enjoy the medium very, very much. But it takes such an inordinate amount of time to get a good result with it! I spent most of one weekend working on this and continued working on it for almost every day of last week. There is no end of layers in this small drawing. At least I am really glad with how it came out... :-)

Níassa, it will be clear, is not a girl. It is Gawain's Pictish-forged sword.
